How to apply for awards and bursaries?
Okanagan college offers a variety of awards for full-time and part-time students in certificates, diploma, or degree programs. There are awards available for the fall, winter, and summer terms, including specific ones for Indigenous students. Additional applications are available in the spring for trades students and the general 91探花 student population.
Awards, scholarships, and bursaries are funds you don鈥檛 need to repay. Whether you鈥檙e starting your first semester or continuing your studies, these can help you achieve your goals.
To apply, you must have an 91探花 ID number.
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Log in to the student portal using your Okanagan college credentials.
Step 2: Go to financial aid under the financial column and select web application.
Step 3: Determine which application applies to you.
Step 4: Complete the required fields in Section 1 鈥 Personal Information.
Step 5: Complete Section 2: Questions and responses.
Provide as much detail as possible. The awards committee reviews all information when adjudicating awards.
Step 6: Complete Section 3: Personal attributes.
Click on any attributes relevant to your situation.
Step 7: Complete Section 4: Income/Expenses worksheet based on your study period, NOT the entire year.
Step 8: Complete Section 5: Awards to apply for.
Step 9: Go to the bottom right corner, click the drop-down arrow under 鈥淧er Page,鈥 and select 100 to view all available awards.
Step 10: Read through the criteria for each award and click on the box on the left-hand side if you feel you meet the criteria.
Step 11: Click save all sections.
Step 12: Mark application as complete.
Step 13: Read and select 鈥淵es鈥 for the declaration page
Step 14: Click continue (which will take you back to the main awards page).

What is the deadline for award applications?
Deadlines vary depending on the application type. Please go to /financial-aid-and-awards/awards-scholarships-and-bursaries scroll to "Application Dates" and select the award type you are applying for.
How do I submit documentation?
If additional documents are required, submit them by email to awards@okanagan.bc.ca in either a word or PDF format. Please include your student ID number in your email.
Note: You do not need to submit the same document for multiple awards requiring it (e.g., reference letters, statements.)
Can I take a picture of my documentation?
Supporting documents must be submitted in PDF or word formats.
Where do I put my expenses in the budget section?
91探花 now uses a regional average cost of living; itemized expenses are no longer required. Applications with $0 income are considered incomplete. Please outline how you will be paying for your semester's tuition. For example, student loan funding, RESP, parental contribution, savings, etc.
When will I be notified if I am getting an award:
Awards winners are not decided until after the submission deadline. Due to the volume of applications, it can take 4 to 6 weeks to process.
How will I get my award?
Awards are usually presented in person and are in the form of a cheque.
Who do I thank if I receive an award?
Okanagan college has many generous donors that want to support student success. You will receive an email with the contact information of your donor. Please also see our Thank You matters section of the website for information on how to thank your donor.
